About Us

Latest News:

Welcome to the New Forest Model Railway Society website.

Now that the government has relaxed the covid guidelines we are pleased to announce that we shall be returning to club Tuesday evening meetings on 20th July 2021. After a very long break we are all looking forward to getting back to our modelling.

We shall also be welcoming visitors to NFMRS on Tuesday evenings, but could we ask that any visits are delayed until early August to give us time to reorganise ourselves and get our layouts up and running. There will be some requirements for our safety.

We very much hope that our next exhibition will be our open day in November. We will provide details on our diary page when available.

The New Forest Railway Society was started in 1975 and has around 40 active members. We meet Tuesday evenings at Brockenhurst Village Hall and each year we stage two exhibitions. At the end of May a two day exhibition consists of layouts from many other clubs and individuals and at the end of November the club has its own open day where members layouts and layouts worked on during the year are exhibited. See our diary page for details of exhibition dates and meeting times.

Our membership includes people of all ages and we model mostly in N, OO and O gauges. During club nights we are constructing new layouts as well as repairing, maintaining and updating existing layouts as well as having a good chat and watching train videos. If you are interested in joining, or just want to see what we do, then please pay us a visit - we are very friendly, informal and welcoming.

It doesn't matter whether or not you have any particular modelling or engineering skills, the only requirement is that you are interested in model railways. Please visit the other pages of this website to see our layouts.
