About Us

The New Forest Model Railway Society meets on Tuesday evenings for modelling sessions in Brockenhurst Village Hall. We welcome anyone who may be interested in joining to come along and see what we do or even come along as a visitor and chat to our members. If you do visit please make yourself known to our club secretary.

At the end of May 2025, we held our spring exhibition, which was a great success with many layouts from different clubs on display and lots of visitors. If you came along, we hope you enjoyed your day. And thank you to those who contacted us to say they enjoyed their visit.

We are now looking forward to our annual Open Day next November. Again we will have many NFMRS layouts at the exhibition together with trade stands. Have a look at our 'Diary' page for further details. We very much hope you can come along for a great day out. This will be a special year and exhibition for the NFMRS, celebrating our 50th anniversary.

IMPORTANT OFFER: If you attend our November exhibition you will have the opportunity for free membership to the NFMRS. See diary page for details.

Have a look at our 'Layouts' page where we have updated the list of layouts within the club and those by club members, which have appeared at our exhibitions.

The New Forest Railway Society was started in 1975 and has around 50 active members. We meet Tuesday evenings at Brockenhurst Village Hall and each year we stage two shows. At the end of May a two-day Exhibition includes layouts from many other clubs and individuals and at the end of November the club has its own Open Day, where members’ own layouts and layouts worked on by the club during the year are exhibited. See our diary page for details of exhibition dates and meeting times.

Our membership includes people of all ages, and we model mostly in N and OO gauges. During club nights we are constructing new layouts and repairing, maintaining and updating existing layouts as well as having a good chat. If you are interested in joining, or just want to see what we do, then please pay us a visit - we are very friendly, informal and welcoming.

It doesn't matter whether or not you have any particular modelling or engineering skills, the only requirement is that you are interested in model railways. Please visit the other pages of this website to see our layouts.
