Annual NFMRS Open Day

We held our 40th spring exhibition at Brockenhurst at the end of May and if you wish to view the exhibition report click here

We are now looking forward to our club Open Day in November at Brockenhurst village hall.

We now have some information about the layouts you can see. There will be eight club layouts on display. Some are new and on their first exhibition outing. Others you may have seen before but have been worked on during the past year to improve running and have scenery added.

The OO layouts will be:

  • Knightwood Junction
  • Mossbank Yard
  • Helstowe
  • New layout (as yet unnamed!)
  • Keyhaven and
  • Rocklington'

And N gauge wil be represented by :

  • 'Brockhampton' the club layout that has changed a lot

and there will be a new 6' long 009 layout.

There will be five visiting layouts that have not been seen before at Brockenhurst.

O gauge will be represented by:

  • 'Hampton South'
  • 'Thomas' layout from Fareham
  • and 'Better Than It Was' is an O gauge demonstration stand.

And in OO:

  • 'Cobham' a layout from the South Western Model Railway Club
  • and 'Blackgang'

As usual there will be trade stands to provide for your layout and rolling stock needs. And of course the free car park and a wide range of refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Directions

If you are visiting us by rail, the Village Hall is only a five minute walk from Brockenhurst Station.

Make your way to the station car park on the north east side of the station. Exit through the gate in the north east perimeter fence (look out for the orange handrailing at a ramp) and turn left into E Bank Road and proceed to the end of this no through road. Carry on in a south east direction along a straight footpath that leads to the village hall.
